Have you taken a good look at your website lately? Maybe it seems a little outdated or bland. Maybe you don’t even have a website. Either way, I’m here to tell you about some key features your updated website should have and I am going to use a website that we have recently launched to show you! You are going to want to look at turn2us.com to see exactly what I am talking about.
The first very, very important feature your website should have is that it should be responsive. This just means that your website looks great and is easy to use on any device. These days, it is actually more common that people will be viewing your website from a mobile device, so it is very important that we take this into consideration when building a website. For example, if you take a look at Turner & Associates’ website I linked to above, when the screen gets smaller, everything becomes stacked so that it is easier to read on a mobile device. We have even added a large button that you can click to call their office. An easy way to check to see if a website is responsive is to just change the width of your browser window, and if it is responsive, you will see the website changing along the way.
Some other things we would encourage you to have on your site would be plenty of photos, good quality content, links to your social media accounts, and probably a map or contact form as well so people can easily get in touch with you. We always try to include all of these when we are building a website for a client. Photos bring some excitement and personality to your website! If you take a look at Turner & Associates’ website again, you could pick just about any page and you will see we have at least one photo on it. Good quality content is a must, especially if you want people to find you on search engines like Google. We encourage people to have a good bit of content on every page of their website, including the home page, and we also like our clients to consider keeping up with a blog. Blogs are a good way to consistently put new content up on your website and get those keywords that you may not have been able to get on other pages of your website.
Hopefully these tips help you and your business out, and of course, we are always here to help you further!
