What’s a typical day like for you?
Coffee at 5am and the gym; that’s a must. I shoot sunrise photos almost everyday, and then depending on my day, head out to commercial shoots or into the office for photo processing. I’m usually back out shooting in the late afternoon with the light. Home for dinner with the wife and kids, and depending on the day and workload, shooting and processing after dinner.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
I love to cook, although most people know that. Fly fishing is something I cherish, one of the few times I find myself completely zoned out.
If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be? (Don’t overthink it!)
Florence, Italy. I lived there for 6 months studying photography and cooking. I love it.
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
An Air Force Pilot. My best friend and I both did. He did.
If we went to happy hour, what would you order?
If? Double bourbon, rocks. Kentucky bourbon, duh.
Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...
With my family. If it’s at church, or spending time together on the boat. That’s a special time.
What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?
My obsessive drive for creative integrity and my versatility.
What do you want to make sure you do before you die?
I really don’t make lists like this. I really just want to stay inspired until the end and if I can do that I’m happy. But, I’d love to take a back-country road trip all the way to Alaska, camping, fishing and photographing along the way.
