the vidalia® onion committee needed a brand that could win over a new generation of superfans — without ever letting go of the georgia farmers and small-town history the vidalia® onion actually comes from.

THE CHALLENGE

how do you modernize something people already love?

the vidalia® onion committee exists to protect and promote something georgia farmers have spent generations perfecting. that’s a real responsibility and it meant the rebrand couldn’t just chase trend. it had to earn a spot with a new generation of shoppers while still feeling instantly, unmistakably vidalia® to everyone who already grew up on it.

get it wrong in either direction of too polished, or too stuck in the past and you lose someone. the committee needed both at once.

OUR APPROACH

we went looking for the roots before we touched the design.

before a single logo sketch, we went deep into vidalia® onion history and pulled reference from vintage georgia farm signage: the lettering, the hand-painted feel, the honesty of it. that research became the backbone of a system built to be clean and versatile enough for a modern brand, but never so polished it forgot where it came from.

the rebrand is now live across the committee’s consumer marketing, retail packaging, social channels, and trade outreach. social engagement and reach have grown meaningfully since launch, and the system is still expanding into new retail materials in active development — a good sign a brand is actually working, not just sitting on a shelf.
